LONG BEACH, CA — A man accused of shooting another man in Long Beach and then barricading himself inside a home was arrested Thursday night, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers were called to the 1600 block of Linden Avenue just before 5:30 p.m., where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim and another man got into an argument when the suspect shot the victim and drove away to a home near the 2000 block of Chestnut Avenue, police said.
Officers created a perimeter and unsuccessfully attempted to coax the suspect out of the residence. A SWAT team then responded to the scene in an effort to deescalate the situation. The suspect surrendered and was taken into custody, police said.
