Suspect And Victim Flee After Stabbing In Long Beach

Long Beach police are investigating a stabbing that occurred at the Los Coyotes Diagonal Monday night.

LONG BEACH, CA — A physical fight escalated into a stabbing at the Los Coyotes Diagonal Monday night, Long Beach police said.

Police received a report of the stabbing in the 3500 block of Los Coyotes Diagonal at about 6:45 p.m. When police arrived only a witness remained at the scene.

"A witness stated a male adult suspect and a male adult victim engaged in a physical altercation which escalated when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim," the Long Beach Police Department said in a statement

Both the suspect and the victim fled the scene before officers arrived. After canvassing the area, however, evidence was found that indicated the stabbing took place.

Police said they don't have any information on the suspect's identity or motive for the stabbing. The investigation is ongoing.
