Suspected Prostitution Concerns Parents At Long Beach School: Report
Parents said they have shared pictures of suspected sex workers and discarded contraceptives near elementary school campuses, reports say.

LONG BEACH, CA — Parents at Colin Powell Academy have expressed concerns to law enforcement and the Long Beach Unified School District about suspected sex workers operating within feet of the school.
In a report from NBC Los Angeles, parents told reporters they have seen suspected sex workers very close to the school "wearing next to nothing." While parents said they have reported the issue to police and school officials, the district says it has not received any safety concerns.
"While there have been concerns raised about sex work and homelessness in the surrounding area, these issues have not directly impacted the safety of our school grounds," district officials told NBC.

Colin Powell Academy is the second elementary school where parents have reported similar activity near the school campus. Starr King Elementary School parents have also expressed concerns about how safe sidewalks near the school are.
