Suspicious Package Triggers Scare at Long Beach Airport: Update

Operations at the airport were on standby was officials investigated the situation.

LONG BEACH, CA -- A suspicious package Tuesday has operations at the Long Beach Airport on standby for nearly two hours as officials investigated the situation.

The incident started around 11:45 p.m. and was resolved around 1:30 p.m. according to tweets by the airport. No evacuation was ordered but passengers are advised to check with their airlines regarding the status of their flights as the airport returns to normal operations.

During the investigation, Long Beach police sent out an advisory around 12:45 p.m. telling residents to avoid the area around the airport for the next hour.
