Teen Sitting At Bus Stop Killed In Crash: Long Beach Police
The crash happened Wednesday afternoon in the area of Palo Verde Avenue and Carson Street, police said.
LONG BEACH, CA — A 15-year-old boy was killed Wednesday afternoon when a car that overturned in a crash struck him as he sat at a bus stop in East Long Beach, police said.
Police say the boy was sitting at a bus stop in the area of Carson Street and Palo Verde Avenue around 2:56 p.m.
At some point, the driver of a 2010 Infiniti G37 was speeding westbound on Carson Street and ran a red light at Palo Verde Avenue, where he crashed into the driver of a 2010 Toyota Prius going southbound at the intersection, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The force of the crash caused the Infiniti to skid and overturn, ending up on the northwest sidewalk of Carson Street where the teen was sitting, the LBPD said.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the teen to a local hospital for treatment, but he died, police said. Police did not immediately release his identity due to his age.

The driver of the Infiniti was also taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition, according to the LBPD. The driver of the Prius remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
