LONG BEACH, CA — Police say they're investigating a shooting in Long Beach on Wednesday night that left a 16-year-old hospitalized. Police say the teen was in the 5200 block of Atlantic Avenue around 7:30 p.m. when someone shot him in the upper body. It's unclear who shot him, why or whether he was the intended target. Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the area and took the teen to a local hospital for treatment, police said, adding that his wound did not appear to be life-threatening.
