LONG BEACH, CA — Long Beach is closing out the summer season with a free concert at Marine Stadium on Aug. 29.

The event, hosted by the city's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Marine, will feature Tijuana Dogs, a self-proclaimed "high-energy" and multifaceted band from Orange County, established in 1997. They perform several genres from 80s pop to the greatest hits of the early 2000s.

“There’s no better way to wrap up summer break than by coming together with family, friends and neighbors for a beautiful evening of energetic fun and live music,” Mayor Rex Richardson said in a statement Friday. “Long Beach has long been a hub of arts and music and we are thrilled to welcome Tijuana Dogs to celebrate that cultural spirit that makes Long Beach so special.”

The concert will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at Marine Stadium and aligns with the city's Summer of Opportunity initiative, which focuses on fostering positive development amongst Long Beach's youth, according to officials.

It is also one of several free concert experiences that took place in Long Beach this summer. The Long Beach Municipal Band had a series of sunset concerts that took place across the city in July and August.
