  1. CaliTea near the Traffic Circle did a soft opening Sunday. Located at 4549 East PCH, staff members had an opportunity to connect with customers for the first time and practice their craft. To sweeten the deal, the management team took 25% off all drinks that Sunday. (@CaliTeaLB)
  2. Did you see the police activity at Los Coyotes Diagonal and Carson Street on Monday? Two men were in a crosswalk around 7:20 AM when a car hit them. This driver remained on the scene and cooperated with the LBPD. (LB News)
  3. On December 15, we alerted beach goers that there was debris along the shore from the sinking of the Newport Princess off the Island White. On Sunday, we learned that the vessel had broken apart, and more debris was washing ashore near the Pride lifeguard tower. It turns out that the party boat did not have the authorization to be anchored near Island White, “but the riverboat had been anchored there throughout 2021.” The storm also beached an abandoned 35-foot boat. (Patch, LB Post)
  4. The National Weather Service warned residents on Monday that another set of storms is coming to the City. Rain showers might bring up to an inch of precipitation. If you have not already done so, consider stocking up on free sand and sandbags. Both are available at fire stations 5, 7, 12, 13, and 14. Please note that you may not take sand from the beach or dump sand from used bags on the beach. (Patch, Neighborhood Link)
  5. Violins of Hope is coming to the LB Symphony! Scheduled for January 8 at 8 PM, it is a much-anticipated traveling performance. Instruments were owned by Jewish musicians during the Holocaust. They were saved and restored, and they will be used to play Mozart’s “Requiem” and Bruch’s “Kol Nidrei.” (LB Symphony)
