Urbane Cafe To Celebrate 1st Long Beach Location With Free Sandwiches

LONG BEACH, CA — Urbane Cafe — the chain known for fresh bread baked on site, salads and sandwiches — is opening its first-ever location in Long Beach this week and celebrating with free food giveaways.

The Long Beach location, located at Long Beach Exchange (LBX) at 4001 N. Lakewood Blvd., will celebrate its soft opening on Saturday, March 8, which will kick off a series of celebratory charitable fundraisers and complimentary meals.

“We are very excited to open our first location here in Long Beach. Our delicious sandwiches and salads will make a fantastic addition to the community," Urbane Marketing Director Caprice Kindgren told Patch in an email.

The Ventura-born chain's Long Beach outlet, the 35th in Southern California, comes as Urbane is already planning a second Long Beach next year location off 7th Street near Cal State Long Beach, Kindgren said.

Here's the lineup of events Urbane is hosting to celebrate its grand opening:

• March 8: Dine & Donate — complimentary sandwich, salad or bowl with a donation to the Assistance League of Long Beach from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• March 9: Grand Opening — Loyalty members can take advantage of a buy-one-get-one deal on online orders between March 7 and 14. Free items can be redeemed on future orders.
• March 11: Long Beach City College Student Giveback Day — City College students can get a free sandwich, salad or bowl after signing up online.
• Fridays March 14 - April 4: Service Give Back Days — Local civil service workers, first responders, military and veterans can get a complimentary sandwich, salad or bowl by showing their service ID or wearing their uniforms.
• March 18-19: Healthcare Appreciation Days — Healthcare workers can get a complimentary sandwich, salad or bowl after signing up online.
• March 25-26: Teacher & Staff Appreciation Days — Educators can get a complimentary sandwich, salad or bowl after signing up online.
