Wilson Teacher Accused Of Saying He Would Shoot Students: Report

LONG BEACH, CA — A Wilson High School teacher was put on leave amid accusations that he said he wanted to shoot students, according to a Long Beach Post report.

An Instagram account for the food truck Mariscos El Garage made a post on Wednesday stating that the account owner's nephew was working in a group when their teacher, who the Instagram post identified as Mr. Hamilton, approached and told the group, “This school is lucky they don’t let me bring my 9mm glock, or else I would have shot four students already.”

The post goes on to say that Mr. Hamilton allegedly pointed at his forehead saying “I would shoot them right here.”

"School is supposed to be a place where students should feel safe," the Instagram post said. "Unfortunately, we live in an era where we fear for our children’s safety with the threat of school shooters among other dangers. Mr. Hamilton is doing the opposite of reassuring the peace of mind of his students with his disturbing comment."

According to the Long Beach Post, the Long Beach Unified School District was made aware of the accusations on Nov.7 and quickly started an investigation. LBUSD spokesperson Chris Eftychiou told the Post that the teacher involved was placed on administrative leave until the investigation brings results.
