Woman Dies After Getting Hit By Bus In Long Beach
A pedestrian died Wednesday night after she was hit by a bus in Long Beach.

LONG BEACH, CA — A woman died Wednesday night after she was hit by a bus on Shoreline Drive, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Paramedics and police responded to the area of Shoreline Drive and 7th Street just before 7 p.m. Despite their lifesaving efforts, paramedics determined the woman died at the scene, police said.
The preliminary investigation revealed a Long Beach Transit bus was traveling northbound on Shoreline Drive when it struck the woman, who was walking in the road outside of a crosswalk, police said.

Neither speed, distracted driving nor drugs and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash, police said.
The driver of the bus reported the collision. Long Beach Transit is assisting with the investigation, police said.

The woman's identity has not yet been released.
