  1. Queen Mary Update: The federal bankruptcy court judge is considering using $2.4 million in assets for repayment of COVID relief loans Urban Commons founders took out and used for “wrongful” purposes. In the past, one went on record stating that the application for the funds was erroneous. (LB Post)
  2. Council District 1 incumbent, Mary Zendejas, has released her campaign’s donor list, and it reads like a who’s who of incumbent city council members and mayoral appointees. Incidentally, Mayor Robert Garcia contributed from his 2024 Lt. Governor campaign committee. (LBreport)
  3. Terminal Island, the artificial island that is split between the L.A. and LB Ports, reports the release of “400,000 gallons of acidic treated wastewater” into the ocean. Officials are quick to point out that there’s no cause for alarm. (Random Lengths News)
  4. The Aster, a mixed-use eight-story building with 218 units, is going up at the corner of East Broadway and LB Boulevard. Completion is planned for the end of 2023. (LB Business Journal)
