1 Killed In Downtown LA Shooting Near Movie Set, 2nd Shooting Reported

Investigators were searching for suspects in two shootings, one fatal, that took place Thursday near a movie set.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man in his 30s was killed in a shooting near a movie set in downtown Los Angeles, police said.

The first shooting occurred in the 1900 block of Bay Street, near Alameda Street, around 11 p.m. when the man was shot in an ally, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Witnesses told police a man approached the victim and shot at him multiple times.

The man, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers responded to a 911 call at around 11:40 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of Bay Street west of Central Avenue where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, LAPD Lt. Leticia Ruiz told City News Service.

Another man was also shot nearby but Ruiz could not confirm the second shooting. Police said the second man was shot in the leg a few blocks north of the initial scene and was driven to a hospital with a non-life-threatening wound, KTLA reported.

The shooter left the scene in a vehicle. There was no suspect or vehicle description.
