American Airlines Flight Forced To Make Emergency Landing At LAX

LOS ANGELES, CA — An American Airlines flight made an emergency landing shortly after taking off from Los Angeles International Airport early Friday morning.
The plane was en route to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in Texas when it had to make an emergency landing, prompting the flight crew to return to LAX at around 2 a.m. Friday. The flight, AA 1445, was scheduled to depart from LAX at 1:30 a.m.
Video aired by KTLA shows the Los Angeles Fire Department responding to runway 25L to inspect the flight shortly after it landed safely at LAX.

A mechanical issue prompted the emergency landing, an LAX spokesperson told KTLA. But it remains unclear exactly what the problem was.
There were no reports of injuries.
