Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Van Nuys Evacuated After Chemical Fire: LAFD
A fire broke out at the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Van Nuys after a 10-gallon hydrogen peroxide spill, Los Angeles firefighters said.
VAN NUYS, CA — A chemical spill broke out at the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Van Nuys on Saturday afternoon, leading to an evacuation at the site, the Los Angeles Fire Department said in an alert.
The fire ignited at the facility at 8250 N Woodley Ave., which brews beer for Budweiser and other brands, around noon after employees reported a fire involving hazardous materials.
Crews later determined that the fire started after 10 gallons of hydrogen peroxide spilled at the site, LAFD said.

The agency briefly evacuated the area as a precaution while hazmat squads evaluated the spill and tested the air.
Evacuations were lifted around 2:30 p.m., firefighters told CBS News.
There were no injuries reported at the brewery.
The 95-acre property, which opened in 1954, is the third of 12 major Anheuser-Busch breweries, reports said.
