Are You Holding The $10M Lottery Ticket Sold In Los Angeles County?
The winning ticket was sold at a local convenience store, according to California Lottery officials.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A Los Angeles County liquor store has sold a coveted $10 million lottery ticket, but the winner has yet to come forward, according to California lottery officials.
The ticket was sold by Barley Bin Liquor, a family-owned store in Whittier. This is the second time this year a winning ticket has been sold by the store.
Earlier this year, the store sold a Mystery Crossword Scratchers that netted $750,000 for its ticket holder. It also marked the first top prize in the store's 35-year history, according to brothers Raymond and Tony Boulos, who run the store.

“I see adults that I used to know as children,” said Raymond Boulos in a statement to California Lottery officials. “They were 8 years old, and now they are in their 30s. It’s the kind of place that people, once they come here, they never leave. Everything you could want is here in Whittier.”
Selling the $10 million lottery tickets means a $50,000 bonus for Barley Bin Liquor, which the brothers say they plan to reinvest in the store.

“As longtime Whittier residents, we are proud of the community we have that calls us their local corner store," Tony Boulos said. "So many people have come to this store for so many years.”
The holder of the $10 million ticket still needs to go through the California Lottery's standard claim process, which includes being vetted by the agency's law enforcement officers. After the process is completed, it takes six to eight weeks for the winner to receive their prize.
“While we won’t know who won just yet, we can certainly celebrate right along with the Boulos family, and their Whittier community,” Daniel Kelly, California Lottery spokesperson, said in a written statement. “We want to send a big thank you to all our players who support California public schools every time they play.”
Since its inception in 1985, the California Lottery has generated more than $46 billion for California's public schools. Much of whatever is spent on each lottery ticket is donated to public schools, colleges or spent on prizes and retail compensation, according to the California Lottery.
Unclaimed jackpots are also given to public schools. Over $1 billion in the entire 40-year history of the CA Lottery has gone unclaimed, according to the public agency.
