Beyonce, Paris Hilton, Disney Donate Millions To Help LA Fire Victims
From Leonardo DiCaprio to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, here are the celebrities and other figures who have made large donations.
LOS ANGELES, CA — As countless GoFundMe campaigns and other grassroots fundraisers from community members race to raise funds for Los Angeles' fire victims, celebrities and large corporations have stepped up in recent days to do the same.

Residents of the coastal cities of Pacific Palisades and Malibu, along with the inland Altadena, are beginning to return to burn-scarred communities where the still-smoldering Eaton and Palisades fires have left once-familiar places charred or destroyed altogether.

Whole neighborhoods, beloved restaurants, parks, and public infrastructure have been leveled inc fires that the catastrophi have burned in Los Angeles for a week straight. The damages and economic loss could total some $275 billion, according to the latest estimate from AccuWeather.
Los Angeles, the birthplace of film star glamor, also happens to be home to countless celebrities — some of which lost their own homes to the fires. Among them are Paris Hilton, Heidi Montag, Mandy Moore, Mel Gibson, Anna Farris, Billy Crystal and many more, according to a long list compiled by ABC7.

"Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience," Hilton posted on Social media.
Last week, Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles said her Malibu bungalow was destroyed.
“It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred happy place. now it is gone,” she wrote on Instagram. “God Bless all the brave men and women in our fire department who risked their lives in dangerous conditions.”
Here are the celebrities and big corporations who have donated in recent days:
Beyoncé
Beyoncé has donated $2.5 million to a newly launched LA Fire Relief Fund created by her charitable foundation, BeyGOOD.
The announcement arrived on the BeyGOOD foundation Instagram account on Sunday.
“The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires,” the caption read.
Walt Disney Company
The conglomerate has pledged $15 million to help wildfire victims to help with immediate response and later, rebuilding efforts.
"The history of The Walt Disney Company is inextricably linked to the greater Los Angeles region," the company said, adding that it has been working to ensure the safety of its employees, many of whom were impacted by the fires.
"We will be supporting vital organizations offering essential services on the ground, including the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, among others," according to Disney.
Leonardo DiCaprio
DiCaprio, an Angeleno himself, said he would donate $1 million toward relief efforts.
“The Los Angeles wildfires are devastating our city. I am committing $1 million in partnership with @rewild’s Rapid Response Program to support both urgent needs and post-fire recovery efforts,” the star wrote on his Instagram Story.
Jamie Lee Curtis
Curtis has vowed to spend $1 million on relief efforts, according to a Jan. 9 IG post. She said that her family is in talks with Gov. Gavin Newsom, LA Mayor Karen Bass, and Sen. Adam Schiff on the best use of her money.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made an appearance in the Southland on Friday to volunteer a the World Central Kitchen in Pasadena.
The pair have also made donations through their Archwell Foundation to relief efforts, Town & County reported. More specifically, the foundation is supporting Altadena Girls, an effort launched by 14-year-old Avery Colvert, whose school was burned down, to help teenage girls recover.
Netflix
Netflix on Monday pledged $10 million to be split among five recipients including World Central Kitchen and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, co-CEO Ted Sarandos said.
Comcast NBC Universal
The corporation has also committed $10 million to the relief effort. Comcast Corporation Chairman and CEO Brian L. Roberts allocated $2.5 million of its $10 million cash commitment to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles’ ReBUILD LA initiative. The remainder of the money would go to other charitable foundations helping victims.
Paris Hilton
After losing her Malibu home in the Palisades Fire last week, Hilton launched an emergency fund to assist displaced families with young children. Within just 72 hours, the fund reached $800,000, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
She has also pledged a $150,000 grant to GoFundMe’s Wildfire Relief Fund to help 150 Altadena evacuees displaced by the Eaton Fire.
Screen Actors Guild
The Screen Actors Guild announced over the weekend a $1 million commitment to support members impacted by the fires. While much of the focus has been on stars who lost their homes, countless lesser-known industry workers have also experienced displacement or lost their homes due to the devastation.
The Wonderful Company
Billionaire owners Stewart and Lynda Resnick said they will donate $10 million to relief efforts, Forbes reported.
Steve Ballmer
Ballmer, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, and his wife Connie Ballmer, announced Wednesday that the Ballmer Group would donate $15 million in emergency funding specifically to wildfire victims in Altadena, where the Eaton Fire leveled whole neighborhoods.
Eagles
Members of the alt-country rock band the Eagles have said they will donate $2.5 million to FireAid, Billboard reported.
Eva Longoria
The "Desperate Housewives" Star and her foundation are donating $1 million to the relief effort, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Longoria's $1 million donation comes from the $50 million Bezos Courage and Civility Award she received in March, an annual prize from Jeff Bezos recognizing individuals who make significant contributions to society.
Royal Bank of Canada and City National Bank
The banks have together announced a $3 million donation to support victims of the Southern California wildfires. The funds will benefit organizations including the American Red Cross, Community BuildInc., Entertainment Industry Foundation, International Medical Corps, Neighborhood Housing Services Los Angeles County, United Way of Greater Los Angeles, West Los Angeles Community Development Corporation, World CentralKitchen and YMCA of Metro Los Angeles.
