LOS ANGELES, CA —As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
The sweltering heat continues in the Southland, with highs in the upper 80s and 90s predicted throughout the region. Further inland, highs could reach as high as 110 degrees, prompting an Excessive Heat Watch throughout the week for much of the Southland. The heat already resulted in several fires over the weekend, including a 344-acre grass fire in Riverside County, a fire near Woolsey Canyon, and a 22-acre fire near Castaic. A fire in a commercial building in Glendale also spread to other buildings, resulting in evacuations.
Even cars were burning, though that was due to a large street takeover early in the morning in Downtown LA.
