Brush Fire Shuts Down 101-405 Freeway Connector
A brush fire shut down a connector between the 101 and 405 freeways Thursday afternoon.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A transition ramp connecting the 101 and 405 freeways in the San Fernando Valley was shut down Thursday due to a nearby brush fire, according to a Sigalert.
The fire broke out Thursday afternoon on the right side of the transition between the northbound 101 Freeway and the southbound 405 Freeway. It was reported at around 12:45 p.m.
Authorities reopened the transition road at around 2 p.m.

The closure had backed traffic on the northbound 101 Freeway for nearly 4 miles to Coldwater Canyon Avenue.
The firefighting effort was also blocking lanes on nearby Kester Avenue, near Burbank Boulevard, according to authorities.
