  1. On Sunday, a little after 8:30 p.m., the LAFD went to the 22500 block of West Lull Street in West Hills. There, they found a vehicle that had driven into a single-family home. “The structural integrity of the garage was compromised.” The driver had minor injuries, while there is no report of injuries to the home’s occupants. 2. It is official, Kristin Crowley has been confirmed as the new (LAFD) Chief! She will take over for current Chief Ralph Terrazas, who announced his plans to retire by March 26. “‘I think it’s so fitting for this nomination to come to council today, on the first day of Women’s History Month,’ L.A. City Council President Nury Martinez said on Tuesday.” (LA Weekly)
  3. Councilmember Joe Buscaino wants to have the city move RVs that are currently used by those living in them. Last Wednesday, a City Council meeting asked for a PD and FD report “relative to violent and property crimes originating from or occurring within corridors populated with recreational vehicles.” “Buscaino said that he already knows that there is crime happening where RVs have moved.” (Knock LA)
  4. Speaking of crime, how is L.A. doing? We learned Tuesday that murders in January were down by 17%. On the other hand, violent crime increased by 3.5%. Police Chief Michel Moore “repeated his concern Tuesday about the increase in robberies involving firearms, putting that number at 35%.” (Fox LA)
  5. A Silver Alert had a happy ending Tuesday. Authorities announced that they safely found an 81-year-old man who had gotten lost after being “last seen at approximately noon Saturday in the area of West 87th Street and South Broadway.” This Silver Alert is now canceled. (My News LA)
