Danville Senior Center Hosts Holiday Brunch, Filoli Gardens Outing

The senior center is hosting two separate holiday events this month and anyone over the age of 55 is invited.

DANVILLE, CA — Seniors of the East Bay are invited to participate in two upcoming events in Danville this December that are sure to inspire holiday cheer.

On Dec. 6, the center will host a holiday brunch and movie day, in which anyone 55 and older can attend. The hot brunch will be held at the center at 115 East Prospect Ave. The feast will be followed by bingo and a holiday movie.

The brunch will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are available to non-residents for $24 and to residents for $20. Register here or call the senior center at 925-314-3430.

Those who wish to skip the brunch can attend the movie showing for free. A "treat" will also be included at the movie screening, which has not been announced yet. The movie starts at noon and will end around 1:30 p.m. Register online here or call the senior center.

Then, on Dec. 15, seniors 55 and up are invited to "Christmas at Filoli Gardens." Filoli's Historic House and Gardens is a community staple that shines with glittering holiday lights and decor every December.

"It’s a fun festive way to celebrate the holidays with family and friends," an invitation from the center reads.

Participants will enjoy a morning and afternoon of strolling through the gardens and touring the historic house.

Tickets for non-residents cost $112, while resident tickets cost $93. Register online here or call the senior center. Lunch is not included but can be purchased Quail's Nest on-site or guests can pack a picnic lunch. Transportation will be provided from the center.
