  1. There was a single-family home fire Monday night around 11:43 p.m. The LAFD responded to the property in the 200 block of South Avenue 52. Thirty firefighters battled the blaze for 40 minutes. “A man about 29 years old was pronounced dead at the scene.” (The Eastsider)
  2. On Monday, LADOT began targeted enforcement of “Bus Only” lanes. This enforcement is ongoing until Friday and will occur throughout the city. “As a reminder, it is illegal to park or stop in “Bus Only” lanes during posted times.” (@PaulKrekorian)
  3. Was a Los Angeles deputy fire chief intoxicated while overseeing operations at the Palisades Fire in May last year? The city hired a law firm to find out. They say “he was likely impaired at the LAFD headquarters in City Hall East,” but cleared of wrongdoing. The deputy fire chief has since retired. (Patch)
  4. This year’s headliner for L.A. Pride will be “Grammy-winning artist and longtime LGBTQIA+ ally Christina Aguilera.” The event takes place June 11 at Los Angeles State Historic Park with the theme “Love Your Pride.” “As we return to in-person events, LA Pride is honored to continue the tradition that we started 50 years ago, this time with the iconic Christina Aguilera in an iconic new location."   5. Taro root donuts from Hawaii? Yes, please! Holey Grail is the food truck that has the goods. We learned Tuesday that “Holey Grail has a pop-up location in Culver City, a food truck in Santa Monica, a storefront opening just down the block on Main Street and another in Larchmont soon.” (Spectrum News 1)
