Off-Duty Paramedic Rescues 7-Year-Old From Fire On Thanksgiving: Reports

LOS ANGELES — An off-duty paramedic rescued a 7-year-old girl from a fire Thanksgiving night in East Hollywood, according to reports.
The blaze occurred shortly before midnight in the 4700 block of West Oakwood Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Richard Recinos was on his way home from a holiday dinner when he saw a glow in the sky, then flames and embers, KTLA reported, adding he got to the scene before firefighters and carried the girl from the porch, where she was standing as the fire grew.

Firefighters arrived to find two large trees ablaze near a duplex, which saw mainly exterior damage, according to the department.
The girl spent a night in the hospital with minor foot burns, KTLA reported, adding the family’s car was destroyed, but the home is still habitable.
