Ex-CHP Captain Who Showed Flight Attendants Porn, Exposed Self Sentenced To Rehab: DOJ
The former California Highway Patrol captain admitted to abusive sexual conduct aboard an LAX-bound flight.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A former California Highway Patrol captain was sentenced Monday to probation and community service for his drunken behavior on a Los Angeles-bound flight which included slapping a flight attendant on the buttocks and exposing himself multiple times, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Dennis Wally Woodbury, 50, of Azusa, pleaded guilty in October to one federal count of abusive sexual contact within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the U.S., according to prosectors.
The charge carries a possible sentence of two years in federal prison. Woodbury on Monday was sentenced to three years probation and 100 hours of community service. He will also be required to undergo outpatient substance abuse and mental health treatment and abstain from using alcohol and drugs, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Woodbury was a passenger on a JetBlue Airways flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Los Angeles International Airport in April when he began harassing two male members of the flight crew before the flight left the gate, prosecutors said.
Woodbury showed one of the flight attendants a photograph that included a dog in the foreground and a blurred image of two men having sex in the background, prosecutors said in court documents obtained by Patch.

"Woodbury later told one of the flight attendants that he should go on a cruise with him then made a crude hand gesture," the U.S. Attorney's office said.
"Just after meal service and while the plane was still in the air, the second flight attendant collected passengers’ meal trays and walked past Woodbury. Woodbury, who had been drinking heavily, then used his left hand to slap the victim’s buttocks," prosecutors alleged. "Woodbury then yelled that he loved him."
Prior to that, Woodbury had drank an entire 750 mL bottle of prosecco over the course of three hours, according to court documents.
Woodbury's behavior escalated as the flight continued. Prosecutors said Woodbury left his seat and went to the galley in the front of the plane, where one of the flight attendants was located, he "pulled his pants and underwear down exposing the head of his erect penis," according to court documents.
When a flight attendant told him his behavior was inappropriate, he unsuccessfully asked the flight attendants for wine before once again exposing himself, according to prosecutors.
Upon arrival at LAX, Woodbury was escorted off the plane by Los Angeles Airport police officers. As one of the flight attendants exited the plane, Woodbury yelled to him "this is all your fault because you didn't go to the bathroom with me," according to court documents.
After his arrest, Woodbury told authorities that the flight attendants had "solicited" him. The flight attendants told confirmed to authorities that neither had consented to Woodbury’s behavior, according to the indictment.
Woodbury was previously employed by the California Highway Patrol but was "dismissed from state service," according to court documents.
