  1. Who stole a family’s van in Baldwin Park? The family, who are leaders at the Apostolic Worship Epicenter Church, had parked the vehicle in front of their home. It is a necessary conveyance for this family of 10 to get around town. (Patch)
  2. How did five inmates at the Men's Central Jail get their hands on drugs? Most importantly, what did they take that caused firefighters to receive “an overdose call around 7:15 a.m. Monday.” Scuttlebutt claims it's fentanyl. (ABC)
  3. Baldwin Hills is getting a film studio, we heard on Saturday! The brainchild of Stocker Street Creative, it “features 50,000 feet of sound stage studio space (and) transform a 5.12-acre block along Stocker Street, with Santa Rosalia Drive on the east end and Don Felipe Drive on the west end.” (L.A. Standard)
  4. What would an expanded Los Angeles Convention Center look like? We learned on Monday that “the proposed convention center expansion project will feature a 700,000-square-foot new hall building, which would connect the existing south and west halls over Pico Boulevard.” Concurrently, “the expansion project would add 870 hotel rooms to the JW Marriott, nearly doubling its size and making it the city’s largest hotel.” (LA Downtown News)
  5. On Monday, the Lakers decided to part ways with three-season head coach Frank Vogel. The team “finished the season with a 33-49 record, good for just fourth place in the Pacific Division,” which is a far cry from when “Vogel led the Lakers to the NBA championship in 2020.” (Patch)
