Fire Contained After Engulfing Residence, Automobile In Los Angeles

The flames engulfed a car and extended to the first floor of a two-story apartment building.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — Fire crews knocked down a residential fire with an automobile involved in Northridge Sunday.

The fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. Sunday at 19036 West Bryant St., between Oakdale and Corbin avenues, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The flames engulfed a car and extended to the first floor of a two-story apartment building.

More than 30 firefighters contained the fire and prevented it from extending into the second floor, Stewart said.

No injuries were reported.
