Fire Scorches Mezzanine Above Highland Park Auto Shop

Firefighters battled a blaze that burned part of a structure above an auto shop in Highland Park.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters put out a blaze at a mezzanine above a one-story auto shop Saturday in Highland Park, authorities said.

The fire was reported around 9:59 a.m. at 119 S. Avenue 55, where firefighters worked to quell the fire. It took crew members 12 minutes to extinguish the flames, the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
