Firefighter Hurt Fighting Garment District Blaze
A garment district building was engulfed in flames early Tuesday morning, and a Los Angeles firefighters has been hospitalized.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A fire damaged a commercial building housing a garment business in downtown Los Angeles Tuesday and left a firefighter injured.
Firefighters sent to the 700 block of East Pico Boulevard at 4:49 a.m. extinguished the flames in 47 minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
Paramedics took the firefighter to a hospital in fair condition, the LAFD reported.

Arriving firefighters found the 100-foot-by-300-foot building engulfed in flames, and they went into a defensive mode, successfully preventing the flames from spreading to other structures.
Some downed power lines were reported. The cause of the fire was under investigation. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
