  1. Hip-hop star Yeat was supposed to play a free concert at the Roxy Theatre on Sunset Sunday night. However, it appears that “the venue oversold the event” and Yeat was nowhere to be found. An estimated 1,000 individuals crowded Sunset after 8 p.m.; crowds dispersed by 10:30 p.m. Yeat responded with, “we gone do a part 2 don’t worry.” (CBS, Tone Deaf)
  2. The 15th Annual SoCal "Fight for Air Climb" took place on Sunday on the steps of the L.A. Coliseum. The event was a fundraiser for the American Lung Association. Donors raised $230,000 for lung health. (ABC)
  3. An LAPD detective “led a witness to pick the wrong person for a murder he didn't commit.” This individual ended up serving 32 years. Now, the City of L.A. paid a $9 million settlement. This is the largest settlement the City has paid out this year so far, says Kenneth Mejia, who is running for Los Angeles City Controller. (@kennethmejiaLA)
  4. We learned on Monday that a rare Mandarin duck has set up residence at Belvedere Park Lake. How did a bird native to East Asia end up in a Los Angeles concrete pond? The Pasadena Audubon Society speculates that the bird “was captured, and it was sold to people.” Then it escaped. (Spectrum News 1)
  5. The Los Angeles Sanitation and Environment’s Watershed Protection Program wants to teach you “about the benefits of rainwater harvesting and owning rain barrels” in a FREE webinar. It takes place on March 5 at 10:30 a.m. There is a rebate program for rain barrel purchases. Also, attendees are “entered into a random drawing to win a $25 gift card from a recognized home improvement store.” (Santa Monica Daily Press)
