Gilman Springs Road To Close Through November In Beaumont

Beaumont residents are urged to plan for more traffic throughout the closure while crews install a wildlife crossing and widen the shoulder.

BEAUMONT, CA — Gilman Springs Road in Beaumont will be fully closed for several weeks as construction on a new wildlife crossing begins, according to the Riverside County Transportation Department.

The road will be closed north of Bridge Street to south of Alessandro Boulevard beginning Oct. 5 at 6 a.m. The road will not reopen until Nov. 21.

Crews are expected to work 24 hours per day, 7 days a week so residents should plan for delays and increased traffic in the area. Resident and business access is available at Alessandro Boulevard with a project pass, the county said.

The roadway is being removed entirely to make way for a new wildlife crossing near Bread Street. Crews will also widen the shoulder and center median for both directions. A northbound passing lane and a metal beam guardrail at the edge of the roadway will also be will be added to increase safety.
