LOS ANGELES — As the weekend wraps, we've rounded up some of the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into SoCal's other top stories: Don't let the clouds fool you — heat will be the norm for at least a few more days, and some monsoonal moisture and thunderstorms may be in the cards, too.

"A large area of high pressure over the southwestern U.S. will continue to impact our weather over the coming days. This will bring warm and muggy conditions with a chance for monsoon thunderstorms for our region through Monday. A shallow marine layer will continue to bring night and morning clouds within 15 miles of the coast. Hot weather will continue for much of the week across inland areas, though some slight relief may arrive by the end of the week as a trough enters the Pacific Northwest."

Catching up on other headlines from the weekend: The LAPD is searching for a man suspected in a string of assaults against women this month, and a man was shot over the weekend during a street takeover in South L.A.

Plus, a car chase that started at a movie theater led police to 14 stolen catalytic converters, and first responders rescued a rock climber who suffered serious injuries in Jurupa Valley.
