Homeowner Fatally Shoots Man Wielding A Knife In LA
A man shot and killed a man who reportedly tried to stab him outside his home in Lincoln Heights Friday night.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A homeowner shot and killed a man Friday night who reportedly tried to stab him outside of his home in the Lincoln Heights area of Los Angeles, police said.
Officers received "shots fired" reports around 9:40 p.m. and were dispatched to the area of E Avenue 28, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The suspect approached the man at about 9:40 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of East Avenue 28, said Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

The homeowner shot the suspect and then called police, she said. He was not arrested.
It was not clear whether the homeowner knew the suspect or if was a clear case of self-defense, KTLA said.
