Human Remains Found At Fire In LA Commercial Building
While responding to a fire in a building in downtown Los Angeles, firefighters found the remains of an adult man in the rubble.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters discovered the remains of an adult man while responding to a blaze at a commercial building in downtown Los Angeles, fire officials said.
Crews responded to the fire in the morning and worked to put out smoldering piles of debris at 1450 South Long Beach Ave., the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement.
After the discovery of the body in the rubble, the department dispatched a human remains detection canine team to systematically search the site for additional victims, fire officials said.

The team found "no immediate indication that additional deceased persons might be on site."
The building was also the site of a previous burn, LAFD said.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner was expected to identify the person as well as the cause, time and manner of death, authorities said.
