  1. As of Friday morning, the Korea Town boulders are still in place. Initially put up by neighbors “to keep unhoused Angelenos from camping in a spot along Westmoreland Avenue,” they soon drew the ire of the City. However, when the City sent a crew to remove them, they couldn’t access the site and left. (Streets Blog, @StreetsblogLA)
  2. There’s a new national soccer expansion team heading to the City! The Angel City FC announced Friday that it will be the “first L.A. team in the National Women’s Soccer League.” Be on hand when the team takes the field “on Saturday, March 19, for a league-wide preseason tournament, the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup.” (KTLA, Angel City)
  3. There was a fire Friday morning “at a two-story building housing ABC Toys on 630 S. San Pedro Street.” One hundred LAFD personnel responded to the blaze that appears to have started outside the building. It took 40 minutes after the initial call to extinguish the fire. (KTLA)
  4. Avalon Gardens is a Public Housing Community with 164 apartments at 701 East 88th Place. On Friday, the Housing Authority of the City of L.A. (HACLA) announced that it has partnered with Starry Internet to offer residents “low- to no-cost broadband services.” This was a big step for digital equity in the City. (@HACLA1938)
  5. Paul McCartney announced a 14-stop “Got Back” tour on Friday. It will kick off on April 28 in Spokane, WA, and he will play locally at SoFi Stadium on May 13th. (Yes, the former Beatles member is 79 years old.) (Patch)
