- L.A. Live plans an immersive exhibit highlighting the music and life of Tupac Shakur. Scheduled for opening on Friday, it’s titled “Wake Me When I’m Free.” Due to the involvement of the Shakur Estate, visitors get to see personal artifacts that haven’t been presented before. - Mayor Eric Garcetti nominated Deputy Chief Kristin Crowley to take on the leadership of the LAFD. Chief Ralph Terrazas will retire on March 26. The announcement took place Tuesday at the Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center. Crowley is a 22-year veteran with the FD. Terrazas characterized Crowley as "an exemplary leader with a broad base of experience that will serve the department well.” (Patch)
- OneLife Los Angeles’s eighth annual Walk for Life is scheduled for Saturday. Organizers intend to “catalyze a movement of love and mercy in our city and our entire community.” The event kicks off at 11 a.m. at Olvera Street. “This family-friendly event begins with a solidarity-building walk through downtown Los Angeles, ending with a festival, live music, food trucks, entertainment, and inspiring speakers.” (One Life LA)
- Top Chef star Stephanie Izard opened her rooftop restaurant Cabra on Tuesday. Head to 1060 South Broadway and go up to the top of the Hoxton Hotel. This eatery has a distinctive Peruvian focus with dishes including “quinoa and tuna salad, avocado dip with taro and sweet potato chips, and heartier mains like skirt steak saltado, and skin-on pork shank.” (L.A. - PaleyFest LA is returning after a three-year hiatus. Scheduled for April 2 through 10 at the Dolby Theatre, “the multi-day fest will celebrate some of the biggest shows in television.” You can begin buying tickets this Friday. (Redlands Daily Facts)
