  1. The 2022 Los Angeles Marathon is happening on March 20. It will snake through West Hollywood “as part of a 26.2-mile Stadium to the Stars course.” Know your detours! (@WeHoCity)
  2. What’s a hot prowl? In simplest terms, it’s the act of trying to burglarize your home while you’re actually there. “A hot prowl burglary is dangerous because of the possible confrontation between the subject and victim,” the PD suggests. We learned Monday that one such case took place after someone stole car keys outside a doctor’s office. (CBS)
  3. On Friday, L.A. sued Monsanto, Solutia Inc., and Pharmacia LLC, “for past and future costs of dealing with contamination of waterways by long-banned chemicals called polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs.” If you’re following along, “Monsanto is now a subsidiary of Bayer AG, Pharmacia is a subsidiary of Pfizer Inc., and Solutia is a subsidiary of Eastman Chemical Co.” (My Mother Lode)
  4. On Monday, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti turned the Dept. of Transportation’s recommendations into law. They will reduce speed limits by 5 mph on about 177 miles of L.A. streets. “No parent should worry about their child going to school. No older adult should feel unsafe when they walk around her neighborhood,” he said. (Press-Telegram)
  5. Have the beef prices made you do a double-take in the grocery store? Skip the store and head to the W Brazilian Steakhouse at 147 North Western Avenue in Koreatown. We learned Monday that if you spend $39.99, you can get “all-you-can-eat picanha, garlic picanha, baby beef, pork belly, and a pair of grilled sausages, all carved tableside.” At this price, you have 90 minutes to enjoy your meal.
