LA County Gas Prices Continue Dropping Following Runs of Increases
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in LA County dropped two-tenths of a cent today to $4.97.
LOS ANGELES COUNTY -- The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in LA County dropped two-tenths of a cent today to $4.979, the fourth consecutive decrease following a run of 10 increases in 11 days totaling 7.3 cents that pushed it to its highest amount since Nov. 30.
The average price has dropped 1.5 cents over the past four days, including six-tenths of a cent Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is eight-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 92.4 cents lower than one year ago but 4.8 cents more than one month ago.
The average price has dropped $1.515 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5.

The national average price rose 1.1 cents to $3.58, one day after increasing six-tenths of a cent. It is 2.5 cents more than one week ago and three-tenths of a cent higher than one month ago but 88.7 cents less than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.436 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
