LAPD Officers Shot Responding To Armed Robbery; Shooter At Large
Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect who shot and wounded two Los Angeles Police Department officers Friday night.
LOS ANGELES, CA — An armed suspect is at large in South Los Angeles following a shootout that left two Los Angeles Police Department officers wounded Friday night.
The officers were responding to a report of an armed robbery at the intersection of East 92nd Street and South Central Avenue at about 9 p.m Friday, according to the LAPD. One officer was shot on the right side of their body and placed on a gurney by paramedics and rushed to a hospital in unknown condition, KTLA reported. The other officer reportedly suffered a bullet wound to the hand.
As the officers arrived at the scene, the suspect opened fire on them, striking both officers, LAPD Officer Drake Madison told City News Service.

Both officers were conscious following the shooting, KTLA reported.
The armed suspect in the shooting fled into a nearby neighborhood and is on the run, police said.

Video from the scene showed customers at a nearby laundromat running away, some carrying their clothes.
Police said another person -- possibly a victim in the robbery-- suffered an injury to the forehead.
KCAL 9 reported the suspect was wearing a green hoodie and black pants.
