Will you celebrate Halloween this year? Tell us your plans! So far, 48.4% are turning off their porch lights, 39.6% will hand out candy, 4.4% are attending a party, and another 7.7% will accompany children to go trick-or-treating.
📰 Here are the top stories in Los Angeles today:
1) Two people were detained Wednesday morning in connection with a fire on the 6200 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard. That building housed an abandoned restaurant. More than 100 firefighters were working the blaze and "authorities believe it was part of a series of at least eight other small fires that were set off in the area within the span of an hour.” (ABC)
2) The Los Angeles Police Department needs your help identifying a man who is a suspect in an Echo Park sexual assault. “The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with dark hair and brown eyes with a mustache, standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighs between 180 and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark gray sweater, jeans, and dark tennis shoes.” If you have information, please call the Rampart Station at 213-484-3625. (Fox)
3) Among the best Los Angeles neighborhoods to live in is Beverlywood, according to Niche. The community of around 6,517 residents has a B+ crime and safety rating. If you prefer something a little larger, consider Sawtelle. It has a B- with a resident count of 41,912. (Niche)
4) Sushi Nakazawa is coming to 145 North Robertson Boulevard next year. Branded by famous chef Daisuke Nakazawa, it will join his eateries in Washington, D.C. and New York City. If you hurry, you can get a taste of his artistry at the Peninsula Beverly Hills; however, his presence there ends on Saturday. If you go, know that you have to budget $325 per person. (Eater L.A.)
5) Mark your calendars! Winnie the Pooh (the musical) is coming to the Kirk Douglas Theatre on November 23. Created by Jonathan Rockefeller, the performance features life-size puppets. It is billed as a “must-see show for Winnie the Pooh fans of all ages.” (The Hollywood Reporter)
