LAX Lane Closures Planned Due To Demolition Project
Lane closures are planned in the LAX loop due to a demolition project.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Demolition of a pedestrian bridge outside Terminal 5 will result in overnight lane closures in the Los Angeles International Airport terminal area starting Tuesday night and continuing through Sunday.
The pedestrian bridge connecting Terminal 5 with Parking Structure 5 will be removed as part of the ongoing rebuilding of the terminal. To accommodate the demolition and removal of the bridge, temporary lane closures will occur for five nights on the lower/arrivals level at the airport, and for two nights on the upper/departure level.
Beginning at 11 p.m. Tuesday, all outer lanes on the lower level will be closed at the bridge location, with traffic diverted to inner lanes. The lower level entrance on World Way South to Parking Structure 6 will also be closed, as well as the Terminal 4 LAX-It shuttle stop and the Terminal 5 rental care shuttle stop. The closures will continue until 7 a.m. the following morning, with the closure repeated nightly through Saturday night into Sunday morning.

At midnight Wednesday night, all lanes on the upper level will be closed at the bridge location, with vehicles detoured to Upper East Way and Upper West Way. Upper level entrances to Parking Structures 2B and 5 will also be closed, along with the Terminal 4 Hotel and Private Parking shuttle stop. The closures will continue until 4 a.m. the following morning, and repeated Thursday night into Friday morning.
Signs will be in place to advise motorists of the detours, and flaggers will be positioned to help keep traffic moving, airport officials said.
