At Least 2 Injured In Los Angeles Garage Fire With Explosions Inside

Explosions from possible fireworks went off inside the garage, officials said.

LOS ANGELES, CA — It took firefighters around 20 minutes to contain a blaze in the garage of a Lincoln Heights home that left at least two people injured, while explosions from possible fireworks went off inside.

The fire was reported at 4:24 p.m. Saturday at a home at 1837 N. Sichel St., north of Alhambra Avenue, said the Los Angeles Fire Department's Margaret Stewart.

Firefighters battled the flames from outside to make sure they were safe, Stewart said.
The flames were out at 4:45 p.m., she said.

Paramedics were evaluating a 36-year-old woman with a burn injury and a 40-year-old woman with an unspecified injury, Stewart said. There were reports there might be a third patient but that person was not immediately located.
