INGLEWOOD, CA — Madonna apologized after questioning a concertgoer for sitting during her show before apparently realizing the person was in a wheelchair.

The incident occurred Thursday during a tour stop at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, according to NBC News, and was captured on video.

“What are you doing sitting down over there?” the singer asked before approaching the side of the stage and adding, “Oh, OK, politically incorrect, sorry about that. I’m glad you’re here.”

“That’s ridiculous calling out a fan like that she has no idea what the situation was,” one commenter wrote on TikTok, adding, “she is so full of herself I wouldn’t go to her concerts ever.”

“Does it matter if they’re sitting or standing? they paid for the ticket and took the time to be there? Isn’t that enough???” an X user asked.

“Maybe they had a chronic illness or some invisible disability,” another X user wrote as part of a longer comment. “The point is you never know and you should just leave people alone.”

Others forgave the pop star’s faux pas.

“It's good to see Madonna being quick to recognize and apologize for unintentional mistakes,” wrote one X user. “It's important to be considerate and inclusive of all audience members, regardless of their abilities.”
