Man Fatally Shot By LAPD Officers In Broadway-Manchester Area

LAPD officers opened fire after the driver got out of the vehicle during a traffic stop, the department said.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man was fatally shot during a confrontation with Los Angeles Police Department officers in the Broadway-Manchester area of Los Angeles and an investigation is underway Saturday.

Officers from the department's Southeast Division conducted a traffic stop on Imperial Highway, east of Broadway, at 10:30 p.m. Friday. The driver of the vehicle exited and an officer opened fire, according to the LAPD.

The driver was struck by gunfire and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
