SAN PEDRO, CA — A 21-year-old man fell about 30 feet down a seaside cliff in San Pedro Sunday evening requiring a rescue by a paramedic lowered from a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter.
The fall was reported at 9:12 p.m. Sunday in the area of 4098 S. Bluff Place near the so-called "Sunken City," according to the LAFD's Brian Humphrey.
The man suffered an apparent back injury when he fell, Humphrey said. It was unclear how he fell.

The flight paramedic was lowered to the patient from the helicopter to assess and stabilize him before he was hoisted into the hovering aircraft for transport to a regional trauma center, Humphrey said.
The Sunken City is located near the Point Fermin Lighthouse and was caused by a landslide that began moving slowly in 1929, causing land and a few bungalows to crash into the ocean, according to californiabeaches.com.
