LOS ANGELES, CA — The Federal Bureau of Investigation is searching for a man who may have information about a child victim in a sexual exploitation investigation.

The man, known as John Doe 48, was depicted in a video that is believed to have been produced in October of 2023, according to law enforcement. Based on the evidence, the FBI believes the man has information about a child also depicted in the video.

"We believe he may have information about the child but has not been identified, nor has he been charged so he cannot be characterized as either until we identify him and can question him with the ultimate goal of identifying and rescuing the child victim," FBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller said.
