'Miracle Dog': The Search For Crusher, The Missing Pomeranian
Crusher, the 8-year-old Pomeranian, slipped out of his harness during a walk with a dog sitter while his owner was away on a business trip.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Danny Schramm went from the airport to the dog shelter Sunday after learning his beloved Pomeranian Crusher went missing while he was away on a business trip.
Schramm and his friend Peet Montzingo were in San Francisco on a business trip when Schramm got a notification from Rover, a dog sitting app that pairs dog owners with sitters.
The text from the sitter said Crusher was missing.

"I guess, because I was far away when it was happening, it didn't feel that real yet," Schramm told Patch. "Then when I was in the Uber on the way back from the airport, approaching the apartment in the same streets where I walk him, I saw the signs of him."
In a TikTok video with 3 million views, Schramm listens to a voicemail from his crying dog sitter who said she had printed the signs and posted them throughout Downtown Los Angeles to try and get the word out.

Schramm said the dog sitter was one of four choices that he vetted through Rover who coincidentally was his neighbor in the Downtown area. She also has dogs that are all about the same age as 8-year-old Crusher. Schramm said they got along great, and he trusted her.
The sitter told Schramm that she was out on a walk with Crusher at a nearby park on Sept. 2 when the small, black Pomeranian slipped out of his harness and got away. In the video, the sitter apologizes profusely, and Schramm said she is still canvassing the city on her bike doing everything she can to get Crusher back home safely.
"I owe you so much more than I can give you right now. I know I can never make it up to you, but I just want to do everything I can," the sitter told Schramm in the video while they shared a tearful embrace.
Since Crusher's disappearance, Schramm and Motzingo have been to dog shelters around the city looking for Crusher. Schramm said they are getting countless messages from people with leads.
Crusher and Schramm have been together for about eight years, and that time wasn't always smooth sailing.
When Crusher was younger, he escaped a groomer during an appointment, ran out of the store and was hit by a car. After the accident, Crusher was in a coma for a few weeks, and veterinarians didn't think Crusher would be able to see again.
However, the aptly named Pomeranian has a way of crushing every bad situation he gets into, and he was eventually able to regain sight and relearn how to walk.
"He's kind of like a miracle dog because he somehow pulled through that, but there have also been other situations that have been close saves with fate, and now we find ourselves in another crisis," Schramm said.

Schramm said those who want to help look for Crusher should keep their eyes out for an all-black Pomeranian with a gray snout and paws. He has medium-length fur and no leash, collar or harness and is not microchipped.
