Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Scooter Rider, Suspect At Large: LAPD
Police are searching for a woman who fatally struck a pedestrian while they were riding a scooter, according to the LAPD.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Authorities are on Tuesday asked for the public's help finding a scooter rider who fatally injured a pedestrian in Westlake earlier this month, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The crash occurred at around 4:50 p.m. Sept. 12 on James M. Wood Boulevard, when a man and woman were riding separate motorized scooters westbound on the sidewalk, according to the LAPD.
The woman collided into a pedestrian near Westmoreland Avenue on the sidewalk, causing the woman to fall off her scooter and the pedestrian to fall onto the ground, police said.

The woman picked up the scooter and fled the scene, following the man eastbound on James M. Wood Boulevard, police said.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital by family member. The pedestrian later died at the hospital, police said.

A reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a fatal hit and run.
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact West Traffic Division detectives at 213-473- 0234 or 877-527-3247. Tipsters may also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
