LOS ANGELES — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up some of the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into SoCal's other top stories: For those living away from the coast, it will prove hard to escape the SoCal heat this week, and excessive heat warnings are poised to take effect in several inland areas. While things will get hottest in the mountains and deserts, warm-ups are on tap across the board. L.A. proper is forecast to hit the 90s Thursday through the weekend.
"Warming will start on Monday as high pressure builds across the Southwest," NWS San Diego wrote Sunday. "Temperatures will reach excessively hot levels by midweek, with no relief in sight through at least next weekend. The extended heatwave spells concern for all citizens, especially those without adequate shelter and relief from the heat."
