ROCA Brings Roman Style Pizza to Americana at Brand

ROCA, the new pop-up at The Americana at Brand in Glendale, has debuted new fall menu items. The temporary location is a preview for their upcoming brick-and-mortar restaurants that will be opening in Marina Del Rey and Palisades village in spring 2022.

ROCA celebrates the Roman origin of its style of pizza (RO) paired with a California inspired ethos (CA). Rectangular slices are sold by the slice or by the pan in a variety of flavors and toppings. ROCA is famous for it’s artisan dough. Executive Pizza Chef Luigi Roditis uses organic stone milled flour from Utah to make ROCA’s special dough, which is long cold fermented for up to 72 hours creating an airy, puffy soft rise in the dough to produce a distinct crisp crust.

The unique pizza eatery debuted their new fall dishes including an Italian chopped salad with organic romaine, green cabbage, garbanzo beans, mozzarella, salami, pepperoni and an oregano vinaigrette; a BBQ chicken chopped salad with organic romaine, basil, jicama, smoked mozzarella, black beans, cherry tomatoes, BBQ sauce, organic chicken and buttermilk ranch dressing; pepperoni hot honey pizza with tomato sauce, pepperoni, mozzarella, gorgonzola and hot honey; sausage and mushroom pizza with béchamel, cremini mushrooms, Italian sausage, red onion, mozzarella and cheese and tiramisu with ladyfinger cookies, espresso mascarpone and cocoa powder.

It’s hard to choose just one slice with so many interesting pizza combinations. In addition to the above flavors, diners can select from asparagus and goat cheese, vegan bell pepper, Italian sausage and potato, Italian sausage and cremini, marghertia, mixed mushroom, mushroom and potato, sausage and mushroom, soppressata and burrata, Thai chicken, chicken pesto, Calabrian meatball, roasted zucchini and bell pepper, three cheese and pepperoni. Prices range from $4.50 to $6 per slice.

We tried an assortment tray of different flavors and all were unique and delicious.

ROCA is perfect for a quick lunch, family dinner or to purchase pans of pizzas for parties.

Located at Americana at Brand, take out and delivery available, 769 Americana Way in Glendale, located on Caruso Avenue adjacent to the valet parking. Closed Monday and Tuesday, open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 8pm. Takeout and delivery available via DoorDash, Caviar, Postmates and Uber Eats.
