Serial Rapist Sentenced For Violent Attacks Around Los Angeles

The 35-year-old was sentenced for kidnapping and sexually assaulting four women around Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A 35-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday to 32 years to life in state prison for kidnapping and sexually assaulting four women in Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and West Los Angeles in 2016, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced.

Pablo Carlos Pineda, a transient in the Santa Monica area, pleaded no contest on May 14 to two counts each of assault with intent to commit a sex crime and one count each of kidnapping to commit a sex crime and second-degree robbery, Deputy District Attorney Oksana Sigal said.

Prosecutors said Pineda first attacked a woman in Santa Monica on Jan. 13, 2016, and a second attack occurred Feb. 5, 2016. During a third attack on April 15, 2016 in Beverly Hills, the victim was beaten with a brick and suffered severe injuries, the prosecutor said.

During the fourth incident on July 2, 2016, Pineda kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman in West Los Angeles, the District Attorney's Office said. He was arrested in the MacArthur Park area on July 19, 2016.
